LION BASE Crew from FREETOWN conquering the fashion industry!

Mallence Bart-Williams gathered an exclusive circle of journalists and fashion bloggers for an African dinner in Berlin to present her Folorunsho project which is based in Freetown, Sierra Leone. Under the auspices of Mallence a group of street boys who before had lived under a bridge in a dangerous quarter called “Lion Base” of Sierra Leone’s capital Freetown has become a squad of young fashion designers. At first they created sneakers for Kickz which even found their way into the trendy Parisian department store “Collette”. Now they customized LEE jeans shirts in a typical African street wear style. Mallence presented the different products of this creative collective, showed a book which has been published about this remarkable story of what the human spirit can achieve and showed pictures of the boys and how they live and do their design work.
