Alright, now that the big hype of meaningless new year wishes thru Blackberry Messenger, Whatsapp, Facebook and Twitter and all other social media is behind us, we from Allianz Entertainment would like to take the time to truly wish all our fans, friends and family a productive and joyful 2012. Évora was born on 27 August 1941 in Mindelo, São Vicente, Cape Verde. When she was seven years old her father died, and at age ten she was placed in an orphanage, as her mother could not raise all six children. Aged 16, she was persuaded by a friend to sing in a sailors' tavern.
In the 1960s, she started singing on Portuguese cruise ships stopping at Mindelo as well as on the local radio. It was only in 1985 when at the invitation of Cape Verdean singer Bana she went to perform in Portugal. In Lisbon she was discovered by the musician José da Silva and invited to record in Paris.

After being restricted from all outside activities and events for well over two years. Were are very pleased to finally be able to continue celebrating our Caribbean culture. Unfortunately for us as a start-up band there were too many complications to be able to participate with Rotterdam Carnival this summer. As a result we've decided to postpone our journey as a masband for Rotterdam Carnival. Be sure to stay tuned as we prepare for the return of the Freedom Limerz in 2023.
